Keeping it real...

Normally I use this blog to post pictures and talk about Aiden. Today I am feeling like being open with all of you :)
Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. I really do love it! But, this year I am not in the Christmas spirit. Things that are beyond our control are occuring and it is making it difficult to be excited about Christmas.

This is the time where I need to sit back and remember what the true meaning of Christmas is about and not focus on being caught up in gift giving.

-This photo was taken by my good friend Amber Dawn.

The most important thing to remember is that I have my family. We are all healthy and happy. Remembering these things makes me smile. Thank you for listening and for allowing me to be open. I find it difficult to really do that on a blog, but thought that I would do it today.

-On a sidenote, one of my pictures was chosen as photo of the day at Pink Ink Studios. I am always so honored

Thanks everyone

Missi, know that you are not alone. Yes it is very difficult to have the Christmas spirit when things get tough and finances don't allow for the usual gift giving as I am going through the same thing. But, if you pray about it the Lord will bless you with the Spirit and that is all you need besides your family. This year since we can't afford to do gifts we are making pictures and writing letters to put in a box to read to each other Christmas morning along with a letter of all that we are thankful for to Christ. So hang in there and bask in the glow of the love that your hubby, son, and God has for you! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Missi! You are missed!

Missi, my friend....know that I love you.
My prayers have been for you today...know that 'this too, shall pass.' And the Glory of the Lord will be shown. I think that maybe God allows these things to happen sometimes (remember our season last year?? Yeesh..) so that we realize that this season is not about us....but about Him. The miraculous thing about God, is that we don't need money or good works to Praise Him.
And truly...He is an Awesome God....even if we don't understand Him.
And you my friend, are an Awesome sis.
I love you.

Amen Missi! I know times can be tough and it is so easy to want to get caught up in the gifts and presents and wanting to give to everyone, but you are so right the greatest gift we have here on earth besides our salvation is our family! Enjoy them and remember Jesus came as a baby and was born in a barn, nothing to spectaculr to boost about, yet he came to save the world and His love is with you today!!! lots of love!
