Dreams

Some of you may know this about me.... I have dreamt of going to Australia for many, many years. I'm not really sure when it started but it hasnt' stopped. Anytime someone would mention they had been there, I was right there listening to all their wonderful stories. When I was in high school I had a few pen pals from Australia. I love to surrond myself with the country. After I graduated from High School I got a job at Outback Steakhouse because, well, it is themed Australian. I worked there for about 6 years. As I have gotten older, the "obsession" isn't as strong. I have added going to New Zealand on my list as well.
-I wanted to go there before I had children but that didn't happen. I am hoping that it will soon because I still really want to go!

For those of you that have been there, could you share with me some of your favorite things. Just so I can get jealous :)
No, really. I would love to know. The more information I have, the better my trip will be :)

Hugs to you all!

When you eventually get there, keep a hold onto Aiden. Don't let a dingo snatch him up! (I wonder if that old cliche is true?)

Dreams are good!

I have a list of dreams, I love when I get to cross one off! One day you will get to go and it will be amazing! Keep dreaming!

Don't let today's disappointments cast a shadow on tomorrow's dreams.

-David!!! You are brilliant with your comments. This last one made me laugh so hard. I'm not sure why, but it did. Thanks! :)

Wow, not only did you comment on MY blog which is like having a celebrity sign your forehead, but I can respond intelligently (sorta) to this question! I went to Austrailia years ago (about 15 years) and took my then 4 year old with me. We visited several areas of Austrailia, Brisbane, Cairns, an island on the Great Barrier Reef (Dunk) down into the outback (Darwin) and then Sydney. We were there almost two weeks. It was a fabulous trip. I think it depends on what your interests are. Personally, I could have done without the outback. I had leeches on me, I was in crocodile infested waters with my son who would be a perfect crock snack and while staying in a 4 star hotel in the area, there were frogs in our room (cuz they ate the spiders). So that was not for me. Sydney was just like visiting any big city although I am so glad I saw it. Brisbane and Cairns were to me, the most interesting. Seeing the tablelands and architecture in the area...that was what struck me. The island on the Great Barrier Reef was my personal favorite. I never saw a wild dingo the entire time I was there. They have these huge monitor (I think they are called) lizards there though that are the size of a cocker spaniel. THOSE made me worry. If you can go, GO. Live that dream. And make sure you show us your photos when you do come back so we can all drool. :) Thanks Mellissa for being so nice and real!
